Pastor’s Notes June 2019 Have you noticed the news as of late? The world is in complete shambles. It seems that worldwide politics is out of control. Politics in our country crossed over to just plain stupid some time ago. The Democrats accuse the Republicans, the Republicans slander the Democrats, and the Independents don’t like either of them, and nothing gets done. We can see wars and rumors of wars on our T.V. almost non-stop. Missiles are being fired at someone every few minutes, and all while people are starving, fleeing one country for sanctuary in another. Bombs in churches and violence in our schools. Do you ever ask, “Where is God in all this?” Why do people suffer? Why can’t he stop this insanity? Why all the confusion in the world? People are too quick to blame God! At no place in the Bible, New or Old Testament, did God say he wanted us to live in chaos. At no place in any scripture did he ever tells us to be unreasonable with those around us. Never are we told to always hate our neighbor. “For God is not the God of Confusion but of peace.”1 Corinthians 14:33 (ESV) Satan is the father of confusion, and is the one that seduces humans into sin or falsehood. Even with the world being in a complete state of insanity, God is not the purveyor of people’s suffering, He is the cure. He is the only cure!!!! The problems we see around us are not because he doesn’t care enough about humanity. The problems we see are because humanity doesn’t care enough about God, or other humans. Humanity has turned this planet into a battlefield due to the choices we have made. But God, has a plan. Moses Maimonides wrote, “Every human being may become righteous like Moses our teacher, or wicked like Jeoboam;…merciful or cruel, misery or generous, and so with all other qualities.” The choice is ours. Each and everyone of us will make the world a little better, or a little worse. Giving our lives to Christ is the cure for the world’s problems. Asking Christ to come into our lives will make a difference in the world around us and the world as a whole. Amen, PW
